Vitamin IV Therapy, at a glance

Gangnam Celliting Clinic · 121 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul · Gangnam Station Exit 12 (4-min walk)

A vitamin IV delivers water-soluble vitamins, such as the B-complex group and vitamin C, in a fluid drip straight into a vein, so absorption does not depend on your gut. At Gangnam Celliting Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, a doctor chooses the formulation after a short health review. People who are run-down or eating poorly tend to notice more than people who are already well nourished.

  • Session time Confirmed when booking
  • Core components B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, fluids
  • Recovery Usually back to plans straight away
  • How often Set by the doctor, not routine
What's in the bag

What goes into a vitamin IV cocktail?

A vitamin IV cocktail is a sterile fluid base with one or more vitamin groups added, mixed for you on the day. The clinic's IV menu includes a vitamin B complex drip aimed at energy, a vitamin C drip, hydration drips, glutathione and skin-focused blends, and the doctor can combine elements when it suits your goals.

Component Role in the body Why it is used in a drip
B-complex vitamins Help cells turn food into usable energy Offered for tiredness and low energy
Vitamin C Antioxidant; needed to build collagen Antioxidant and skin-support goals
Fluid base Carries the vitamins; adds hydration Helpful if you are also dehydrated
Glutathione (optional) The body's own antioxidant molecule Sometimes paired for skin-tone goals

Whether anything else, such as minerals, goes into your bag depends on the formulation the doctor selects. Exact doses are set individually and are not one-size-fits-all.

Ask for the full ingredient list before the cannula goes in — you should always know exactly what is in your bag.
Honest expectations

Who actually feels a difference after a vitamin drip?

The people most likely to feel a difference are those starting from a low point: poor sleep, skipped meals, illness or a heavy work week. If your diet is already balanced, your body simply excretes surplus water-soluble vitamins in urine, so the effect can be subtle.

More likely to notice

Travellers who have eaten irregularly for days, people recovering from a cold or stomach upset, and anyone who has struggled to drink and eat well during a demanding period.

Less likely to notice

Well-rested people with a varied diet and normal energy. A drip will not replace sleep, and it will not fix tiredness caused by an underlying medical problem.

When to see a doctor first

Ongoing exhaustion for weeks, breathlessness or unexplained weight loss deserve a proper medical check, not just a drip. A blood test can show whether a deficiency is really there.

Frequency

How often should you have a vitamin IV?

For most visitors, one vitamin drip during a trip is plenty, and many people never need a regular schedule. Repeated sessions only make sense when the doctor sees a clear reason.

  • One-off: after a long flight, a busy few days or a minor illness.
  • Short series: occasionally suggested when a blood test shows a low level and you cannot easily take tablets.
  • Ongoing: rarely needed; diet, sleep and oral supplements usually do the long-term work.

If you want to check your vitamin status properly before deciding, a comprehensive blood test in Seoul can be arranged during the same stay.

FAQ

Vitamin IV Therapy: your questions, answered

Reviewed by Dr. Ho-chan Kim, MD, PhD · Updated October 2026

Is a vitamin IV better than taking vitamin tablets?

Not necessarily. An IV bypasses the gut, so blood levels rise faster, but for most healthy people tablets and a varied diet are enough over the long term. A drip mainly helps when you need a quick top-up or have trouble absorbing or keeping down oral vitamins.

Can I choose which vitamins go into my drip?

You can tell the doctor what you would like, and your goals shape the choice. The final formulation is a medical decision based on your health review, medicines and any test results, so the doctor may adjust or decline an ingredient if it is not suitable for you.

Why does my urine look bright yellow after a vitamin drip?

That is normal and harmless. Riboflavin, one of the B vitamins, has a strong yellow colour, and the body excretes any surplus through the kidneys. The colour usually fades within a day as you drink water.

Can a vitamin IV boost my immune system?

It may support normal immune function if you are low in certain vitamins, but it cannot prevent infections or replace vaccines, sleep and good nutrition. The doctor can explain what a vitamin drip can and cannot do for you.

Does a vitamin drip hurt?

You feel a quick pinch as the cannula goes in, then usually very little. Some people notice a cool sensation or a slight taste of vitamins during the infusion. Tell the nurse if the arm feels sore or swollen so the flow can be checked.
