Gangnam Celliting Clinic · 121 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul · Gangnam Station Exit 12 (4-min walk)

Ultherapy PRIME is the newer generation of the Ultherapy system: it keeps the same micro-focused ultrasound and live imaging, with updated visualization and a faster workflow that the manufacturer describes as about 20% quicker. At Gangnam Celliting Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, it forms the deep-lifting step of One-Day Combined Face Lifting, alongside Thermage FLX, Olla Wave and Fortra.

  • Generation Newer Ultherapy platform
  • Core technology Micro-focused ultrasound with visualization
  • Workflow About 20% faster, per manufacturer
  • Used in One-Day Combined Face Lifting
What's new

What does the PRIME platform add to Ultherapy?

PRIME adds an updated imaging display and a smoother, faster treatment workflow while keeping the same way of lifting tissue. The energy, the idea of fixed-depth transducers and the goal of a gradual collagen response stay the same as the original Ultherapy.

  • Clearer real-time visualization to help the doctor confirm tissue layers before each line.
  • A redesigned system and workflow intended to make sessions run more efficiently.
  • A shorter treatment time compared with the legacy system, according to the manufacturer.
  • The same indications as Ultherapy, including brow, under-chin, neck and décolleté lines.

For you, the practical difference is mainly a more efficient session and more confident depth checks, not a different kind of result.

Ultherapy PRIME vs original Ultherapy: what changed?

The two systems share the same lifting principle; the changes are in the platform around it.

Original Ultherapy Ultherapy PRIME
Energy type Micro-focused ultrasound Micro-focused ultrasound
Live imaging Yes Yes, updated display
Treatment speed Standard About 20% faster (manufacturer)
Indications Brow, under-chin, neck, décolleté Same indications
Expected results Gradual, over months Gradual, over months
A newer platform does not guarantee a bigger lift; skill, mapping and your own tissue matter most.
Combined lifting

Why is Ultherapy PRIME the base of One-Day Combined Face Lifting?

Ultherapy PRIME is the base of the combined program because it reaches the deepest layer, so it is done first and the other devices build on it. The full visit takes about 60 minutes to 2 hours with minimal downtime.

  1. Deep layer: Ultherapy PRIME Image-guided ultrasound targets the support tissue along jaw, chin and brow as planned.
  2. Skin layer: Thermage FLX Monopolar radiofrequency heats the dermis to support firmness and smoother texture; see our Thermage FLX page.
  3. Olla Wave and Fortra These two devices complete the program; the doctor explains how each fits your face.
  4. Final check Both sides are reviewed for balance before you leave.

Doing everything in one sitting suits visitors who have only a few days in Seoul, though some patients prefer PRIME on its own.

FAQ

Ultherapy PRIME: your questions, answered

Reviewed by Dr. Ho-chan Kim, MD, PhD · Updated October 2026

Does PRIME lift more than the older Ultherapy?

Not necessarily. Both use the same micro-focused ultrasound, so the lift depends mostly on your tissue and the treatment plan. PRIME mainly improves imaging and workflow, which can help the doctor work efficiently and confirm depth.

Is an Ultherapy PRIME session shorter?

Usually somewhat. The manufacturer states the PRIME platform is about 20% faster than the legacy system. Your actual time depends on how many areas are treated and whether other devices are added.

Can I have Ultherapy PRIME without the combined program?

Yes. Some patients only need deep lifting and choose PRIME on its own. The doctor will suggest the combined program only if your skin layer or texture would also benefit.

Can Ultherapy PRIME treat the neck and chest?

Yes, within its indications. PRIME shares Ultherapy's indications, which include lax tissue on the neck and under the chin and lines on the décolleté. Suitability is checked at consultation.

How soon after PRIME might I notice a change?

Some people feel slightly firmer skin early on, but most visible lifting develops over the following weeks and months as collagen rebuilds. Results vary, and comparing photos at around three months is the most useful check.
