Gangnam Celliting Clinic · 121 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul · Gangnam Station Exit 12 (4-min walk)

A good regenerative medicine clinic in Korea can show you its Ministry of Health and Welfare designation, explain where and by whom cells are prepared, name the exact product or system used, and give you written consent and treatment records. Gangnam Celliting Clinic was designated on June 15, 2026, prepares cells in four sterile rooms, and its two MD-PhD directors treat patients personally.

What should you verify before choosing a regenerative clinic in Korea?

Start with five checks: official designation, where cells are handled, who handles them, how consent is taken, and which records you receive. "Regenerative medicine" is a broad label. It can cover PRP, exosome products, stem cell programs and collagen-stimulating injections, so the clinic's paperwork tells you far more than its marketing.

Check Why it matters What to ask for
Designation Shows the clinic is approved for advanced regenerative care The MOHW designation and its date
Cell-handling rooms Cells should be prepared in a clean, controlled space Where preparation happens, on site or elsewhere
Who prepares cells Accountability for each step Names and roles of the team
Product or system Lets you research the method yourself The exact system or material name
Consent You should know risks and alternatives first A written consent form you can read
Records Your home doctor may need them later A summary of what was given and where
If a clinic cannot name the exact material or system it uses, ask again before you agree to treatment.
Designation

What does a Korean government designation actually tell you?

A designation tells you the clinic has been reviewed and approved by the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) as an Advanced Regenerative Medicine Institution. It does not promise a result, and it does not mean every treatment suits every person. It does mean the clinic works inside a defined national framework, which is a useful baseline when you compare options from abroad.

Gangnam Celliting Clinic received this designation on June 15, 2026. It is also one of 21 Gangnam-gu Official Partner Clinics for International Patients, a district program for clinics that receive overseas visitors. You can read more about the clinic's wider program on the regenerative medicine overview.

Inside the clinic

How are cells handled at Gangnam Celliting?

Cells are prepared on site, in four sterile rooms set aside for cell preparation. For stem cell programs the clinic uses an autologous, blood-derived approach: the material comes from your own blood, with no donor material and no fat extraction, and it is minimally manipulated.

Your own material

Autologous means the cells come from you. This avoids donor material entirely.

Named systems

The clinic uses Miracell (its Stem Cell Center opened in 2021) and NovaStem (introduced in 2024). You can look both up.

One location

Collection, preparation and treatment take place at the clinic in the WON Building on Teheran-ro, Gangnam, Seoul.

For a closer look at the programs themselves, see stem cell treatments compared.

The doctors

Who will actually treat you?

At Celliting, the two medical directors carry out consultation and treatment themselves; they are not handed off to another practitioner. Both hold an M.D. and a Ph.D., and together they bring over 20 years of clinical experience and more than 100 lectures in Korea.

  • Dr. Ho-chan Kim: Chief Director, surgeon, Ph.D. in Physiology (Wonkwang University), board-certified General Surgeon (1995), former President of the Korean Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (2019–2022).
  • Dr. Young-mi Rhee: Chief Director, Ph.D. in Anatomy (Wonkwang University), board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology (1995), co-founder of a 50-bed women's hospital in 2000.

The clinic has practiced in Gangnam since 2007 and reports no serious complication in that time. That is the clinic's own record; your doctor will still explain the possible reactions for your specific treatment.

FAQ

Regenerative Medicine Clinic: your questions, answered

Reviewed by Dr. Ho-chan Kim, MD, PhD · Updated October 2026

How can I confirm a Korean clinic's regenerative medicine designation?

Ask the clinic for its Ministry of Health and Welfare designation and the date it was granted. Gangnam Celliting Clinic was designated as an Advanced Regenerative Medicine Institution on June 15, 2026. A clinic that works inside this framework should be comfortable showing you the details.

Are cells prepared at the clinic or sent to an outside lab?

At Gangnam Celliting, cells are prepared on site in four sterile rooms dedicated to cell preparation. Elsewhere this varies, so ask any clinic exactly where preparation happens and who is responsible for each step.

What records should I take home after regenerative treatment?

Ideally you leave with your signed consent form, a summary of the treatment and system used, the area treated, and written aftercare. Celliting provides aftercare in your language, and these papers help your home doctor if questions come up later.

Is the same doctor present for consultation and treatment?

Yes, at Celliting. Dr. Ho-chan Kim and Dr. Young-mi Rhee personally perform consultation and treatment rather than handing patients to another practitioner. Asking this question at any clinic is reasonable, because continuity helps the doctor match treatment to what was discussed.

Does a designation mean the treatment will work for me?

No. A designation confirms the clinic meets an official framework; it does not guarantee results. Response varies from person to person, and your doctor decides whether a treatment is suitable after reviewing your health history and goals.
