The technology
How does monopolar radiofrequency heat the skin?
Monopolar radiofrequency heats the skin by passing RF energy from a single treatment tip through the tissue to a return pad placed on the body. Because the current spreads in a volume rather than in focused points, it warms a broad layer of the dermis and the tissue just below it.
That controlled warmth can make existing collagen contract and signals the skin to build new collagen over the following months. The surface is cooled during each pulse to protect it. The result is gradual tightening and smoother texture, not a dramatic lift.
