Layer-by-layer assessment
The doctor checks skin thickness, laxity and volume to decide which layer needs collagen most.
Heat, focused ultrasound, injectable biostimulators, microneedling and cell signalling all push skin to make new collagen, but they feel different, work at different speeds and suit different faces. Here they are side by side.

The best collagen-stimulating treatment depends on where you need new collagen and how quickly you want to see change. Radiofrequency such as Thermage FLX heats the dermis; HIFU such as Ultherapy PRIME reaches deeper support layers; Sculptra rebuilds volume slowly; exosome microneedling and autologous stem cell care renew the skin surface. Many plans combine one deep and one surface method.
Every collagen-stimulating treatment works by giving fibroblasts, the skin's collagen-making cells, a controlled reason to repair. The trigger can be heat, a tiny planned injury, or a biological signal, and the repair process then lays down new collagen over the following weeks.
Radiofrequency and focused ultrasound warm tissue to a precise depth, causing existing collagen to contract and new collagen to form.
Microneedling creates tiny channels that the skin repairs, and an injectable biostimulator such as Sculptra prompts a slow collagen response around its particles.
Exosomes and blood-derived stem cell preparations aim to support the skin's own regeneration messages rather than injure it.
The table below compares the five main approaches by how fast change appears, how long it may last and what the session feels like. Durations vary widely between people, so treat them as general guidance.
| Method | Speed | May last | Feel |
|---|---|---|---|
| RF (Thermage FLX, XERF) | Some firming early, more over months | Many months | Deep warmth in pulses |
| HIFU (Ultherapy PRIME) | Gradual over 2–3 months | Many months | Deep tingling or ache |
| Sculptra (PLLA injectable) | Slow, over a session series | Long-lasting for many | Small injections |
| Microneedling + exosome | Glow early, texture gradually | Shorter; maintenance | Prickly, brief redness |
| Stem cell signalling | Gradual | Varies by person | Blood draw plus injections |
Celliting uses FDA/KFDA-cleared devices with genuine consumables; for Thermage, you can verify a genuine tip through the official Korean Thermage website, and a dedicated tip is used for each patient. More detail is on our Thermage FLX page.
Choose by the layer that needs help: deep support for sagging, mid-dermis for firmness, and the surface for texture and glow.

New collagen generally takes several weeks to begin forming and continues to mature for a few months. That is why the result on the day of treatment is rarely the final one: any immediate tightness from heat is partly contraction of existing collagen, while the remodelling that follows is slower.
For international patients, this means you may leave Gangnam, Seoul before the best result appears. The free 3-month follow-up lets you send photos so the doctor can review progress from home.
Suitability is a medical decision made by your doctor after an in-person consultation and review of your health history.

You discuss one or two methods, their feel and the likely timeline for visible change.
Depending on the procedure, options include topical or local anesthesia, AirNox nitrous-oxygen analgesia or monitored sleep sedation.
Device sessions and injections are performed personally by the MD-PhD directors, never handed off.
Written aftercare in your language and photo check-ins during the free 3-month follow-up.
Written aftercare in your language, a 24-hour line and a free 3-month follow-up.
No serious complication since 2007. FDA/KFDA-cleared devices and verifiable, genuine consumables.
Monitored sleep sedation, AirNox analgesia, the X-injector or local anesthesia, matched to the procedure.
Most device-based collagen treatments allow normal activities soon after, so they fit a short stay; exosome microneedling may leave redness for a day or two, and injectables can cause small bruises. If you plan more than one method, arrive early in your trip so the doctor can space sessions sensibly. Gangnam Celliting Clinic is a 4-minute walk from Gangnam Station Exit 12 and open until 21:00 on Fridays.

Neither is instant. RF may give a slight early firming from heat-induced contraction, while HIFU changes usually appear gradually over two to three months. Both continue to improve as collagen remodels. The better choice depends more on which layer needs treatment than on speed.
Sculptra is a collagen stimulator rather than a classic filler. Its poly-L-lactic acid particles are gradually absorbed while prompting the skin to produce its own collagen, so volume builds over weeks and sessions. Celliting presents itself as The Original Sculptra Training Center, with Sculptra expertise since 1999.
Often, yes. A deep device such as HIFU and a surface or injectable method are frequently combined because they work on different layers. The doctor decides whether to do them on the same day or separate days, based on your skin and the products involved.
It works through signalling rather than injury. Celliting's autologous program prepares material from your own blood with minimal manipulation, aiming to support the skin's repair environment. The clinic has performed 450+ stem cell treatments since 2021 and was designated an Advanced Regenerative Medicine Institution in June 2026.
They are comfort-managed rather than painless. RF and HIFU can feel hot or achy in pulses, while microneedling and injections feel prickly. The clinic matches pain control to each procedure, from topical anesthesia to AirNox analgesia or monitored sleep sedation.
