In brief

Best Treatments, at a glance

Gangnam Celliting Clinic · 121 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul · Gangnam Station Exit 12 (4-min walk)

The best treatment is the one that matches the cause of your concern, which only an examination can confirm. As a rough guide, sagging usually responds to ultrasound or RF lifting, fine lines and thin skin to skin boosters, volume loss to collagen stimulators or filler, and expression wrinkles to Botox. Our doctors then rank options by your skin, health, downtime and travel dates.

  • Concerns covered Eight, from sagging to hands

Why does the best treatment depend on diagnosis?

The best treatment depends on diagnosis because the same visible problem can have different causes. A heavy-looking jawline may come from loose skin, from fat that has shifted downward, or from volume loss in the cheeks above it. Each cause points to a different tool, and treating the wrong one wastes time and money.

That is why our directors, Dr. Ho-chan Kim and Dr. Young-mi Rhee, examine the face before naming any device. They look at skin thickness, elasticity, fat and bone support, muscle movement and any earlier procedures.

Popularity is not a diagnosis: the most-booked treatment in Gangnam may not be the right first step for your face.

Decision matrix

Which treatments are best for each aging concern?

Use these two tables as a starting map. The options listed are the ones usually considered first at Gangnam Celliting Clinic; the doctor confirms or changes them after examining you.

Face shape and lines

Concern Top options Why they are ranked first
Sagging cheeks and jowls Ultherapy PRIME, Thermage FLX, Sofwave Heat deeper layers to tighten and renew collagen
Deep wrinkles Botox, RF lifting, filler Movement, laxity or volume cause different lines
Fine lines and crepiness Skin boosters, Rejuran, collagen-stimulating boosters Improve skin quality rather than lift
Volume loss Sculptra, collagen-stimulating injectables, filler Replace or rebuild lost support

Skin quality and specific areas

Concern Top options Why they are ranked first
Thin, fragile skin Regenerative boosters, stem cell face program Support the skin's own structure
Neck lines and laxity Ultherapy, Thermage FLX, skin boosters Neck skin is thin and needs gentle energy
Aging hands Skin boosters, collagen stimulation Visible veins and thin skin need support
Under-eye aging Gentle skin boosters, selected filler Delicate area; conservative products first

How we decide

How do the doctors rank options for one patient?

The doctors rank options in a fixed order: first by what will actually change your main concern, then by safety for your health, then by downtime and the dates of your trip.

  1. Name the main concern You choose the one change you would notice most, for example a softer jawline or dull, thin skin.
  2. Find its cause The doctor checks whether laxity, volume loss, muscle movement or skin quality is driving it.
  3. Filter by health Medications, pregnancy, implants and skin conditions remove some options from the list.
  4. Fit to your calendar Treatments with more swelling or bruising move earlier in the trip or are saved for a later visit.
  5. Agree on a shortlist You usually leave with one first choice and one optional add-on, not a long menu.

Combinations

When does combining two concerns make sense?

Combining makes sense when two different causes sit side by side, such as loose skin plus thinning skin. It does not make sense to stack three lifting devices on a face that mainly needs hydration.

Lift plus skin quality

A lifting device for firmness, followed by a booster for texture, is a common pairing for patients over 45.

Volume plus lift

When cheeks have flattened, restoring support first can make later lifting look more natural.

One concern only

Younger patients with one clear issue often do best with a single, well-chosen treatment.

Is it right for you?

Is this concern-first approach right for you?

Often a good fit

  • You know what bothers you but not which treatment fixes it
  • You have more than one concern and need them prioritised
  • You prefer fewer, targeted treatments over a package
  • You want the doctor, not a coordinator, to make the plan

Talk to your doctor first

  • You have already booked a specific device elsewhere
  • You take blood thinners or have an implanted device
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You expect a surgical-level change without surgery

Suitability is a medical decision made by your doctor after an in-person consultation and review of your health history.

FAQ

Best Treatments: your questions, answered

Reviewed by Dr. Ho-chan Kim, MD, PhD · Updated October 2026

Can you tell me the best treatment from photos alone?

Partly. Photos let the doctor suggest a likely shortlist and flag options that are clearly unsuitable. Skin thickness, elasticity and muscle movement, however, need to be examined in person, so the final ranking is confirmed at your consultation in Gangnam.

Is the newest device always the best option?

No. Newer devices may offer different comfort or depth settings, but the best choice is the one that matches your concern and skin. An established device used at the right depth can be more suitable than a newer one used for the wrong problem.

What if I have several concerns at once?

The doctor ranks them and usually treats the one you notice most first. A second treatment may be added in the same trip if it is compatible and the recovery fits your schedule. Otherwise it is planned for a later visit.

Which concern is hardest to treat without surgery?

Heavy, folding skin on the neck or jowls is usually the most difficult. Non-surgical lifting can improve firmness, but it cannot remove excess skin. The doctor will tell you honestly when surgery would give a more meaningful result.

Do the doctors perform the treatment themselves?

Yes. At Gangnam Celliting Clinic, the two medical directors personally carry out consultation and treatment. Your care is not handed off to another practitioner after the plan is made.
